CUSTOM SHIN GUARDS
GL SPORT's workshops produce various carbon fibre shinguards using different methods, always seeking the most innovative solutions. For all our technical prowess, we never forget our origins and, relying on a 50-year presence in the orthopedic industry, design all our models for comfort and an anatomical fit.
All models are designed in-house by our technical office by means of CNC milling machines and the latest 3D-printing equipment, which favours a rapid prototyping and testing process. Once models are designed and tested, they undergo field tests before the start of production. Each production step is carefully controlled by a dedicated engineer seeking to provide athletes with the lightest, most comfortable, protective and efficient product possible.
From 2019, the GL SPORT range of shin guards is divided into 2 main models: Top and Glass.
The TOP shin guards are made with aeronautical materials in autoclave, which allow to obtain products with very high technical characteristics, extra light and extra thin. The spectacular extra-glossy finish also gives the product a significant aesthetic and design impact. The Tops are available in monocoque or in Flex version (flexible shell): both versions can have a height of 13, 15 or 18 centimeters.
The GLASS shin guards are made of fiberglass instead: they represent the right compromise for those who are not satisfied with plastic shin guards and want to tackle matches with greater confidence. The Glass is available in monocoque version or in Flex version (flexible shell), in the one-size of 15 centimeters in height.
But we do not stop here: we are constantly studying and implementing increasingly incredible functional and design solutions to remain at the top of the avant-garde in the sector.
FOOTBALL BOOTS
Maintaining the philosophical line that characterizes all GL SPORT products, it was decided to implement a new production line dedicated to football footwear. First of all, we focused on materials: calf leather is extremely soft and comfortable and allows you to try the much desired "glove" feeling. The synthetic leather with carbon weave is also incredible, as it gives an absolutely unique touch of modernity. Other synthetics are also available, which recreate the same sensations as real leather.
6 cleats, suitable for synthetic, 13 or mixed give a complete range of possibilities based on the types of fields on which you go to play!
The maximum combination of technology and craftsmanship is obtained with custom-made soccer shoes: starting from the 3D scan of the foot or the relief of the measurements, in fact, GL SPORT technicians can make the shoe directly on the actual size / shape of the foot in order to being able to manage even particular situations / critical issues (bursitis, tendinopathy, taurine neck ...). At that point the user choice is absolute, since having to make the shoe from scratch, it is possible to choose all the features, both functional and aesthetic.
FACE MASKS
Custom-made protective masks are produced in-house with a unique system that allows shaping the mould without physical contact. The digital processing methodology provides higher accuracy, shorter lead times, and lower costs. Furthermore, products are made and ready to use within three to four hours, allowing "out-of-towners" to design and pick up their items on a single day trip. This is accomplished by means of a 3D scanner, which digitises the face within minutes without any physical contact, offering thus extreme precision and practicality.
Once the face is scanned (the scan takes 5 seconds), GL SPORT's specialised technicians edit and download the injured part to be isolated using a three-dimensional mouse. Next, we produce a high-density, polyurethane foam model, which is used afterwards to manufacture the carbon fibre mask.
Masks obtained with this construction process present several advantages:
- 3D scanner-based face measurement (this avoids pressing down on sore areas while shaping the mould, allowing maximum precision not attainable with conventional systems)
- Masks offer outstanding comfort and fit to exercise without extra weight or concern;
- Working with a three-dimensional mouse ensures the accurate download of the desired point, while still providing support points on other areas;
- Masks are extremely light yet very sturdy, offering thereby protection even upon violent impacts;
- Product graphic design can be obviously customised, and graphics can be agreed during construction at no additional cost;
- Short production lead times: Marks are available and ready to use within approx. 3h;
- Cost must be estimated according to specific needs but, in general, the following pricing guidelines apply:
- Nasal septum protection mask: 390 Euro
- Cheekbone / Septum-cheekbone protection mask: 450 Euro

For example, we may deliver standard shinguards in custom sizes upon customer request, or produce a custom shinguard based on a 3D leg scanning. This offers extraordinary accuracy and unparalleled flexibility in determining the shape, size, enveloping and finishing of the product.
Depending on the carbon fibre type used, the finished product can be delivered within one day, minimising travel hassle for the customer: from 3D scanning to the finished item in a few hours! What is more, our in-house design office allows crafting, directly on-site and with the user, the best graphic / aesthetic solution. In certain cases (scars, sensitive zones, fractures, etc.), you can mark any critical points directly on the athlete's legs, so we can easily find them in the file during 3D modeling.

CUSTOM SPORTS ORTHOSES
GL SPORT regards athlete development as a comprehensive exercise, and thus considers sports orthoses of paramount importance. Also in this case, the use of digital technology is prevalent, starting from the 3D foot scan or via the Amfit system. Our fully equipped workshop produces just-in-time orthoses. In particular, it takes GL SPORT approximately an hour to perform a biomechanics and baropodometric assessment of walking / running - also on the treadmill - and produce your custom orthosis.

GOALKEEPER GLOVES
The latest entry into the company of a technician specialized in the design and research of materials dedicated to the goalkeeping world, led us to introduce the new line of goalkeeper gloves. The main feature is always the great protection combined with maximum sensitivity, the leitmotiv of our entire production. The research for the best latexes and the collaboration with many professional goalkeepers are the cornerstones on which we base the development of models.
